Competition is a way of life for our New Hampshire born recruiter, Pete Jellie. In high school, his passion for excelling and winning earned him the MVP title in basketball and a slot on the New Hampshire All-State Soccer team. It was his focus and drive that made him an obvious captain for the Husson College soccer team, an experience that also allowed him to add All Conference onto his athletic resume.
Pete’s time at Husson wasn't all sports and games; he completed his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management in 2007. It was during that time that he began an internship with The Maine Games, a non-profit organization that sponsors Olympic-style events for amateur Maine athletes. After graduation he accepted a position with The Maine Games as a Sponsorship and Fundraiser Representative. It was there that Pete gained cold call experience and was able to develop his sales and recruitment skills. He knows first hand the importance of being persistent, genuine and keeping a good sense of humor. Even though Pete already had all the important dynamics of being a great recruiter, it was his best friend who really sold him on it. Being an IT recruiter in Boston, he was able to answer many of Pete’s questions and plant an interest in the recruiting world. As a recruiter at MOUNTAIN, Pete has shown himself to be confident and motivated, striving to provide quick feedback and deliver the best candidates to our clients.
Pete is a die hard New England sports fan and can always be found cheering for the Sox, Celtics or Patriots. He makes many trips back to New Hampshire with his girlfriend Alana to see friends and family. He comes from a close-knit family and feels that played an important part in his upbringing. Pete can still be seen at many Maine Games events where he willingly volunteers his time. He hopes to one day put his love of the game to good use by coaching basketball or soccer.
